Example tracks

Four short clips, about 40 seconds each. Press a track to play it. Nothing plays until you choose one.

Demo note: these are stock tracks used as examples on this demo website. They are free CC0 music by other people, from Freesound, and are not work by Hatchway Sound. The titles were made up for the demo. A real producer would put their own mixes here, with the artists' permission.

What I do

These are starting prices. I confirm the price in writing after I've heard the song or seen the session, before you pay anything.

Turnarounds are honest

Times start once I have all the files. If I'm booked up, I'll tell you the start date before you pay anything.

Paying

A 50% deposit books your slot. The rest is due before I send the final full-quality files.

Your music stays yours

Mixing and studio days are a flat fee, with no share of royalties. For production, any credit or royalty share is agreed in writing before we start.

Mastering

Mastering isn't included. Mixes are delivered ready for a mastering engineer.

Before we start

What to send for a mix

Send everything as one download link from any file-sharing service. If something's missing, I'll ask before I start.

  • Stems as WAV files, 24-bit, at the sample rate of your session
  • All stems starting at the same point (bar 1), so they line up
  • Clear names, for example "Kick", "Lead vocal", "Guitar left"
  • Vocals dry, plus a version with any effects you want to keep
  • The tempo (BPM) and key
  • Your rough mix as an MP3, and 1 or 2 reference tracks you like
  • Notes and a deadline: what you like about the rough mix, what bothers you, and your release date if you have one

How we work

Remote or in person

Remote

Most mixing is done remotely. You send the files by link, I send mixes back the same way, and you reply with notes and timestamps. A video call to go through a mix is fine if you'd rather talk it through.

In person

The studio is a small treated room in Walthamstow, E17, near Walthamstow Central station. Use it for studio days, vocal and guitar sessions, or to sit in on a mix.

How it works

  1. Send an enquiry with the song, the service and any deadline.
  2. I reply with a price and a start date.
  3. You pay the deposit and send the files.
  4. I send the first mix or version, and you send notes.
  5. After the included rounds of changes, you pay the rest and get the final files.

Book

Send an enquiry

Tell me about the song and what you need. I'll reply with a price and a start date. Nothing is booked until we've agreed both.
